OAPT Ontario Association of Physics Teachers
Diana Hall

Diana Hall received the 2014 CAP Award for Excellence in Teaching High School/CEGEP Physics - Ontario.

What's New

OAPT attends the International Conference on Women in Physics!

The ICWIP was hosted at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario! The 5th IUPAP (International Union of Pure and Applied Physics) ICWIP ran from August 5-8, 2014 and physicists from around the world attended. From right to left, Olga Michalopoulos, John Caranci, and Lisa Lim-Cole attended as part of the Canadian Delegation and also provided an OAPT Exhibit table, joined in this photo by OAPT partner Dr. Shohini Ghose of Wilfrid Laurier University. Physics toys at the OAPT table provided engaging conversations about Physics Education! OAPT contributed to the general discussions on Physics Education and Girls in Physics during break out sessions.

Physics Camp a Roaring Success!

The OAPT Summer Physics Camp coordinated and sponsored by the OTF Summer Institute was a roaring success! Three days of physics phun! The action packed workshop sessions provided an engaging environment for professional dialogue. Everything from pedagogy, curriculum content and creative lesson ideas were explored! The amazing trip down to SNOlab added the extra inspiration! Thank you, Samantha Kuula at SNOlab for the amazing tour!

Congratulations to Diana Hall, winner of the
2014 CAP Award for Excellence
in Teaching High School/CEGEP Physics (Ontario).
