Exploring eLearning in the Physics Classroom: Developing a personal digital strategy.

Mike Komljenovic

Information and communication technology tools (i.e., for our purposes, e-mail, intranets, on-line conferences, websites, ... and including simulation software, spreadsheet programs, real-time physics software, and other application software and equipment ... ) have revolutionized the way our culture works and plays, but not necessarily the way we communicate, collaborate and learn with our colleagues & students. About fifty to sixty percent of the school boards in Ontario use FirstClass as their intranet communication platform, along with many other organizations, institutions and corporations. This session will explore how electronic learning tools can be used to transform the classroom by integrating these new technological tools, the results of educational research, and effective classroom learning strategies in a blended model of learning that weaves the traditional face-to-face classroom with an on-line virtual classroom into a truly remarkable learning environment.
