Alan Hirsch taught high school physics for 31 years in Ontario, and retired from Port Credit Secondary School in Mississauga in September, 1999. He has been active in the OAPT for 25 years, including a term as Section Representative to the AAPT, and, more recently, as a Member-at-Large. He has written several science and physics texts (some solely, and some with other authors), including Physics: A Practical Approach (Editions 1 and 2), Physics for a Modern World, Nelson Science 7 to 10, Nelson Physics 11, Nelson Physics 12 (University Preparation), and Nelson Physics 12 (College Preparation).

OAPT Photography Contest
 
This talk introduces the first annual OAPT Physics Photo Contest for Grade 12 physics students in Ontario, judging of which will take place at our conference in May 2005. The talk includes information about the criteria, rules, judging, prizes, and entry forms for the contest, as well as examples of photographs.
